The Stratford Youth Council annual fundraising sale is back for another year on February 26thand 27th at Stratford Town Centre, 234 Shakespeare Drive. Everyone is welcome to come and browse the selection of prom dresses and other prom items, all while supporting a great cause.
"This annual sale supports the ongoing work and operation of the Stratford Youth Centre and the many events and activities the youth want to put on," comments Duane Pineau, Youth and Family Coordinator with the Town of Stratford. "We have a very engaged and eager group who have created a youth council to work directly with myself and the parent volunteers to make things happen and ensure youth have a fun, safe place to go in our community."
The sale is open to the public on Friday from 3-9 p.m. and on Saturday between noon and 6 p.m. with a fashion show from 10 a.m. on Saturday until noon showcasing many of the fashions available for sale.
Individuals with items they wish to provide to the sale have two opportunities this week to drop them off at Stratford Town Centre -Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or Friday morning from 8 a.m. until noon. Each individual will pay a $5 fee (one per person regardless of number of items) and if their item is sold during the sale, the Stratford Youth Council retains 20% of the sale. Items not sold will be returned to their owner.
"This sale is a major fundraiser for the Stratford Youth Council so we are hoping that not only will there be many items to choose from but that there will be lots of shoppers as well," added Pineau.
