Media Release – Stratford Honours International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

March 16, 2017

On Tuesday, March 21st, the Town of Stratford will host a panel discussion on racial and religious diversity within our community, in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This panel discussion, entitled "Faith in Understanding: A multi-faith dialogue on the importance of embracing diversity in our community," will feature representatives of various local religious groups, and aim to foster a better sense of understanding and acceptance of different views and values.
The Town of Stratford is a welcoming and inclusive community that values racial harmony and cultural diversity among its residents. Stratford has been a member of the Canadian Coalition of Municipalities Against Racism and Discrimination (CCMARD) since July of 2007, and is the only participating municipality on PEI. The Town marks this day annually with an event to celebrate its commitment to bringing together residents from all backgrounds to learn from one another and grow as a community.
All residents are invited to attend this free event on Tuesday, March 21st, beginning at 11:45am at Stratford Town Centre. A light lunch will be provided by local ethnic food vendors. An RSVP is appreciated, but not required. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Erin Clarke at [email protected].
