Stratford Residents Invited to Explore Energy Day
The Town of Stratford is holding an Explore Energy Day on November 6, 2016 from 12-5pm as part of its Community Energy Plan consultations. Explore Energy Day will include geocaching, a public screening of the documentary "Switch" and a windmill workshop. The Stratford Community Energy Plan Coordinator will be at the event to get feedback and answer questions from residents about the Community Energy Plan. Free prizes will be given out throughout the day as well as a demonstration of making whip cream using the "Fender Blender" bike blender.
Beginning at 12:00pm at Robert L. Cotton Memorial Park, 57 Bunbury Road, there will be a geocaching and energy scavenger hunt for all ages. For those new to geocaching, the Stratford Cadets will be providing some leadership and assistance to ensure all interested can join in. Following geocaching at 2:00pm there will be a screening of the documentary Switch inside at the Stratford Youth Centre (57 Bunbury Road). During the screening there will be an activity corner set up to entertain younger children attending the movie with their parents. The Youth Centre will open their canteen for the movie screening with popcorn and other treats available for purchase and the "Fender Blender" bike and an information booth for the Community Energy Plan will be available. Following the movie at 4:00pm there will be a complimentary Windmill Craft Workshop for all ages to participate in.
"Explore Energy Day is a full afternoon of free, family friendly activities and we invite everyone to join in one or all of the activities," commented Mayor David Dunphy.
