For Immediate Release: April 15, 2021
The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Grants and Donations Bylaw Amended
A resolution was approved to amend Schedule A of the Town’s Grants and Donations Bylaw, Bylaw #38. The amendment sees the addition of an Ecole Francois Buote Graduation Prize in the amount of $300 to be provided annually.
Resolution Deferred
After discussion, a resolution to revise the Foxwoods Subdivision Development Scheme for Phase 2 was deferred to a future council meeting. The application revises Phase 2 of the previously approved development scheme and creates eight single dwelling lots as a Sustainable Subdivision, an increase of one lot at the end of Windsor Drive to six total and two lots on Cardiff Lane.
Greener Properties Inc. Street Names
Four street names were approved in the new Greener Properties Inc. subdivision. The Town’s Heritage Committee proposed:
• Brick Maker Lane
• Kiln Way
• Keystone Row
• Red Clay Lane
These names reflect the history of the area where the 1880 atlas shows there were brick kilns located within this area, two on the south side of the road, and another on the north side.
