Earth Day in the Par

Stratford, PE -Earth Day in the Park will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 with an afternoon of free family activities designed to celebrate our planet's natural environment. All are welcome to join the Town of Stratford, many community partners and some of our local businesses at the Robert L. Cotton Park, 57 Bunbury Road, from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. This event will go ahead rain or shine.

There will be lots to do including:

  • Nature Art with artist Ryan McAdam Young;
  • Face painting and seed planting with the Sierra Club Wild Child Program;
  • Geocaching and a Bottle Drive with Stratford Youth Leadership;
  • The Stratford Energy Lab;
  • Falconry presentation with Island Falconry Services;
  • An ecosystem card game by the Nature Conservancy of Canada;
  • Recycled Paint Information and a paint your own birdhouse with Howatt's Enviro Paints;
  • A waste sorting game with waste sorting information from Island Waste Management Corporation;
  • A mulching activity and planting information by Earthform Landscaping;
  • Information on how you can use less paper by Precision Document Management;
  • An Earth Swirly Activity with the Stratford and Area Watershed Improvement Group;
  • Plus free hot chocolate and more!

With local businesses and non-profit organizations on hand, you can spend Earth Day with us learning more about the environment and celebrating all it has to offer us! Please bring along your bottles and cans to donate to the Stratford Youth Centre's fundraising efforts.

Earth Day began in 1970 and has been recognized around the world every April 22nd since. More information on the history of Earth Day can be found at www.earthday.org.
