Application Deferred

An application for an accessory building (a private detached garage), within the front yard of a proposed single detached dwelling to be located on PID 894519, 255 Sundance Lane, was deferred by council following the recommendation of the Planning, Development and Heritage Committee recommendation. A number of revisions were provided to the applicant to be met before the application would be considered.

Resolution to Deny

Stratford Town Council voted 4-2 in favor of an amendment, on a proposed rezoning of parcel numbers 289231 & 1081025 from R1 to R2, subject to the conditions, to change the resolution from defer to deny.

The original motion to defer the decision on a proposed rezoning of parcel numbers 289231 & 1081025 from R1 to R2, subject to the conditions of the resolution, was carried upon the amended wording change in the resolution from defer to deny, also by a vote of 4-2.

Zoning Amendment Withdrawn

A proposed rezoning of parcels 1019355, 1077270 and 384610, from the Low Density Residential (R1) zone to Medium Density Residential (R2) zone, as a means to keep track of zone boundaries and avoid spot zoning was withdrawn.

Text Amendments Approved With First Reading

First reading of a resolution adding several text amendments to the Town of Stratford’s Zoning and Development Bylaw #45 was approved. The text amendments will permit stacked semi-detached dwellings in the R2 Medium Density Zone as a special permit use requiring council approval.

Long Term Financing

Resolutions approved both the Town of Stratford and Stratford Utility Corporation to enter into two-year fixed term loans with RBC at a rate of 4.02%. These loans are for the financing of work at the Community Campus and Michael Thomas Waterfront Park.
