The Town of Stratford is seeking to commission two site-specific murals that will be created on site during May – September 2026 and will remain on public display for 5-10 years.
Murals must be designed and painted by a qualified artist/muralist who has sufficient knowledge and experience in the painting of such projects, and in the application of the medium selected for the project. Artists will be selected through an open one-stage process.
Applying artists are asked to provide a brief written description of their mural idea along with their portfolio of selected works. If the applying artist does not have a portfolio, we ask that they provide a rough sketch to help with the selection process.
Any building site preparation work will be completed by Town Staff and inspection will be done by mural artist(s) before painting commences.
Application proposal must be completed and supporting materials submitted by email to mweatherbie@townofstratford.ca, or by mail to: Melanie Weatherbie, Program and Event Coordinator, Town of Stratford, PE C1B2V8.
The deadline to apply is March 3, 2026.

(February 19, 2026) Q-Do you accept applications from mural artists residing in other parts of Canada?
A-We welcome applications from mural artists based in PEI, across Canada, and internationally. If you are applying from outside PEI, please include all anticipated travel expenses in your proposed budget (e.g., airfare, accommodations, and related costs).
The Town of Stratford is accepting proposals for the selection of a design consulting firm to provide architectural design and engineering services for the Stratford Wellness Centre, to be located at 174 John Joe Sark Drive in Stratford, PE. The project generally consists of the professional design and contract administration services for a 140,000ft2 multi-functional wellness centre facility and associated site work and amenities.
A site meeting will be held for proponents to review the site on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, at 10:00am.
Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
