Welcome to Stratford
The Town of Stratford is a full service community nestled along the beautiful south shore of Queens County, Prince Edward Island. It’s only minutes away from the Island’s Capital City of
Charlottetown, offering a beautiful scenic view of the capital from across the waters. Stratford covers a land area of 22.1 square km of magnificent waterviews, with desirable and peaceful neighbourhoods of rich rural heritage, offering a high quality of life to its ever growing population of 7,000.
The Town of Stratford is located immediately to the southeast of the City of Charlottetown, the provincial capital and largest municipality in Prince Edward Island. The Stratford area was first settled in the 1750's when several Acadian families settled in the Bunbury area. The Town of Stratford was incorporated on April 1, 1995, and Stratford is now the fastest growing community on PEI.
Stratford in Action
Stratford In Action has just been published. The Town of Stratford partnered with ECOPEI in a project called "Stratford in Action", the project received financial support from the Environment Canada EcoAction Community Funding Program and the Town of Stratford. This project provides Stratford residents with a resource book of practical ways to reduce their carbon footprint, we will share this resource book with other P.E.I. Municipalities in the future. For more background on this project check here.
