The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, February 13, 2025.
Special Permit Use
Stratford Town Council approved an application by resolution from JDLB Holdings to construct a stacked semi-detached dwelling at 40 & 42 Smallwood Terrace (PID 1178060) which is within the Medium Density Residential (R2) zone.
Text Amendments
Several text amendments have been identified to bring the Zoning and Development Bylaw #45 into conformance with the Provincial Early Learning and Child Care Act and associated regulations. First reading of the text amendments were approved.
Two Items Sent To Public Meeting
A public meeting(s) will be held to receive comment on two upcoming topics. The first is to present the proposed Street Vendors Bylaw and the second topic is a proposed revision to the third phase of development in Kelly Heights by Concord Properties Ltd. to construct six stacked semi-detached dwellings, which is a Special Permit Use in the R2 Zone. The public meeting(s) date will be determined and released in the near future.
Supplemental Capital Utility Budget Approved
A resolution was approved to increase the Miscellaneous Capital budget from $25,000 to $75,000 to allow for funding of capital improvements required including three services to be added in the Clearview Subdivision and new exterior lights added to the waterfront utility building, as well as have funds available for any upcoming requirements throughout the remainder of the budget year.
Respectful Workplace Policy
A resolution was approved adopting the Respectful Workplace Policy.
Committee Member Appointments
A number of committee member appointments were made to fill existing vacancies for the two-year term ending on November 30, 2026.
