The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Temporary Use Permit Issued


An application for a temporary use permit to allow up to 3 food truck to be set up at Cotton Center, 57 Bunbury Road throughout the Town’s Fall Fest was approved. The permit is valid from Wednesday, September 18 until Sunday, September 22, 2024 with specific hours of use included in the permit details.

Climate Action Plan Adopted

Stratford Town Council adopted by resolution the “Resilient Roots: Stratford’s Climate Action Plan” which was recommended for adoption by the Sustainability Committee earlier this year. The Town accessed funding through the Government of PEI’s Climate Challenge Fund, facilitated through the Federation of PEI Municipalities (FPEIM) and the Clean Foundation.

Proclamation

Mayor Ogden proclaimed September 2024 as “Pulmonary Fibrosis Month” in the Town of Stratford. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a serious lung disease with no cure. An estimated 30,000 Canadians suffer from the disease with approximately 6,000 new cases identified annually in Canada.
