November 9, 2016 Council Meeting Summary
The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council.
Presentation to Councillor Diane Griffin
Mayor David Dunphy and fellow councillors presented Councillor Diane Griffin with a token of gratitude on behalf of the Town of Stratford as last evening's council meeting was expected to be her final one before she begins her new position as a Senator in Ottawa.

Fullerton's Creek Multi-Purpose Sports Field
Council approved a resolution to award the tender for development of a multi-use sports field at Fullerton's Creek Conservation Park to King's County Construction Limited as the low bidder at $136,530.00. They have agreed to delay work until the spring of 2017 due to upcoming inclement weather, and as previously agreed upon, will honour the price that was submitted for this project at that time of tender. The resolution is also subject to the project being approved in the 2017 capital budget as the expense has been deferred to the upcoming budget year.
Sustainable Procurement Policy
Council adopted a Sustainable Procurement Policy to replace the existing Procurement Policy of the Town of Stratford. The new policy will encourage more environmentally friendly purchasing considerations, align the Town with the purchasing thresholds of the Atlantic Procurement Agreement and allow for a local preference provision to allow Stratford businesses a 5% window in purchases between $2,500 and $25,000.
