The Future of Stratford at Your Fingertips

Ever wonder how planning decisions made today will impact the shape of your town in the future? Introducing The Shape of the Future, a virtual platform that allows you to visualize how different development decisions play out in land use patterns and housing supply in the Town of Stratford.

The model starts from Stratford as of today, then uses population projections to build new residential and commercial units to accommodate population growth.

What could The Town of Stratford look like in 5 years? 10 years? 25 years? What does density and growth really look like? How much will density actually change the Town? The Shape of the Future platform gives you the opportunity to experiment and help shape some of the projected growth while glancing ahead to what your town could look like with a little change.




What can you expect?

• You will start by answering a few questions about what type of growth you think should happen in Stratford. Many options you will see are based on the recent Growth Management report.
• After you make your choices, the model will start by forecasting the population growth of Stratford.
• Once the model has run, you will see a 3-D rendering of the town, including potential new buildings. You will see the Crossroads development as part of the map. You will also see the properties where new buildings could be constructed and can hover over each lot to see what the model has built on that property.
