Description

Join us for a hands-on composting event where we explore and compare two composting methods: the Johnson-Su Bioreactor and the Tumbler System.

Discover how each method supports soil health, microbial diversity, and practical application in different garden settings. 

Presenters include: 
Roger Henry, Composting Technician, AAFC
Soleil Hutchinson, Soleil's Farm

Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and guest speakers will be on-site to answer questions about soil health, composting, and gardening in general. Light snacks will be provided.

NOTE: We will be meeting at the Mayflower Seniors Club (Cotton Centre, 57 Bunbury Road) before heading to the community gardens across the street for a demonstration of the two composting methods.
