The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Special Permit Issued
A resolution was approved for a Temporary Commercial application which shall not exceed a twenty week period permitting the operation of a food truck at 20 Irving Avenue.
Height Exemption
Council approved a resolution to amend a condition of the height exemption previously issued at a meeting on October 11, 2023 on parcel number 1137884, the site of the Stratford high school. The amended condition permits the existing embankment to at as the re quired buffer as it is greater than the required 1 meter buffer.
Zoning and Development Bylaw Amendments
Second reading and adoption of a resolution was approved supporting several text amendments involving the addition of the use “Stacked Townhouse Dwelling” into nice (9) residential zones; new lot development/parking standards for stacked townhouse dwellings; an adjustment of the townhouse uses within the Medium Density Residential (R2) zone and other general housekeeping amendments to clarify the Town of Stratford Zoning and Development Bylaw #45.
Public Meeting to be Held
A resolution was approved for a public meeting to be scheduled by staff of the Planning, Development and Heritge Department to receive public input on a Special Permit Use at 240 Mason Road (PID 819235). This meeting will be scheduled as soon as possible following the holidays.
Supplemental Budget Approved
After soliciting three quotes for the installation of a concrete floor at the Town’s dry storage building at 21 Hollis Avenue, a supplemental capital budget of $10,750 was approved permitting the project to proceed as planned.
Active Transportation Plan Adopted
A resolution approved the adoption of the updated Active Transportation Plan. The previous plan was adopted in 2010.
