Police Protection in the Town is provided via a contract with the RCMP.  The Stratford RCMP Detachment (368-9300) is located at the corner of Mason Road and Route 2, the Trans Canada Highway. There are currently 6 officers assigned to police the Town of Stratford.  S/Sgt M. G. Murphy is the Stratford Detachment Supervisor, members enforce various federal and provincial statutes in the Town such as the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act.  In addition, the members also enforce the Town’s Nuisance Bylaw.   In addition, the RCMP work with various groups in the Town on crime prevention and conduct DARE (Drug Awareness and Resistance) training at Glen Stewart School.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital                     894-2111

Stratford is served by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a 274 bed facility which is the Island's major referral hospital. The QEH provides speciality services in Radiology, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Oncology, Surgery, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Ambulance service in Stratrford is provided by Island EMS, a subsidiary company of Medavie EMS, which began operating the ground ambulance service in Prince Edward Island in April 2006. Operating on a long-term service contract with the Government of PEI, Island EMS is solely responsible for the delivery of the pre-hospital emergency care and non-emergency transfers for the province of PEI

 

street lightsStreet Lighting is installed and repaired by Maritime Electric, please note that if you would llike to report a street light being out, please contact Maritime Electric at 1-800-670-1012. Each street light pole has a tag with a number which will be required to help them locate the pole in their system. Residents who would like to request a new street light should submit their request in writing to the attention of the Safety Services and Environment Committee.
