The Town of Stratford was created in 1995 with the passage in the  Provincial Legislature of the Charlottetown Area Municpalities  Act , this act created the municipality from the former communities  of Bunbury, Southport, Crossroads and Keppoch Kinlock. 


The Official Plan for The Town of  Stratford is a formalized statement of Goals, Objectives, Policies  and Plan Actions approved by the Town Council concerning the nature, extent and  pattern of land use and development within the Town until the year 2012.. The  current Official Plan was revised November 22, 2006.




Town By-Laws guide the development of Stratford and the  administration of town business is directed by Town Policies.
